Re: Calibration Boards
Hp original calibration panel is made of glass or aluminum? I'm wondering how they are printing the dots on the panels accurately too.

Re: Looking For a Job
Looks good, curious to know what you use as targets for scanning. They are circular and just thick enough. So what do you use as targets?

Is it possible to use a calibration panel with more rows and columns of dots than the standard files? (to cover larger area of the camera view when calibrating)

Re: Projectors... and Projector Mods.
the problem of scan distortion is norrwed down on projector lens, we all have tried different possible causes, thats what i believe is the bottleneck here. I havent been able to find a projector with exchangable compact lenses which would be as reliable as the camera lens in terms of lower distortion.

Re: Newbie Scan Questions
Use developer spray to get a uniform white finish to cover the shiny metal and black surfaces on the part, then try rescanning.
You can wash the part later to get rid of the developer.(will be easily cleaned)
Show us the result after you tried it.

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
Hi to all, I gave a tried to GOM inspect 2016, free version: I have to check the perpendicularity of my panel: it is measured as 90.05°: 90.05°.jpg Then I can fit planes (easy and straighforward): Clip_4.jpg Here you have deviations from fitted planes: Clip_2.jpg Clip.jpg as you see in the pics, yo...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
i use geomagic to determine the amount of deviation from plane you're getting on each side of the calibration panel.I call it the disortion map. thats a good indicator of the amount of distortion. as an example this isnt a favourable: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/163127i65...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
Scan the calibration panel after calibration process and send me the stl file. I'll show you how much distortion you're having.
