bigbomber, do you use Markers for scanning? as I know David doesn't support for markers.

Re: Projectors... and Projector Mods.
Hi friends. This is my own self-made projector specially designed to work with SLS systems. It directly drive one single crystal chip to display photos. Light is emited by a 20W LED. I plan to change the LED with laser to get focusless projector. Screenshot_2018-02-26-13-46-18-1.png this is a very ...

Re: Projectors... and Projector Mods.
My RMS error is 0.18. what does it mean? why this value change when I use single or dual cameras setup?
0.18 is a huge value of error? I think it is the source of my alignment problem.

Re: Alignment problems
Does any one try other solution on alignment problems? I noticed in some situations the problem can be reduced but I can't find any rule for it.
I've also try some other projector from NEC and Optoma, but never can get ride of mesh distortion.

Re: Aluminium cast accessory RE
Hi. Very good scans. can I know what projector are you using for your setup? I've do lots of research on alignment problems on low-end structured light 3D Scanning system. If your calib panel is made accurately, all of your problems are coming from projector. For example HP3d Scanner and also Flexs...

Re: Lines in Scans
same problem for me. these narrow lines are not the result of asynchronous of Cameras and projector (those lines are wider). these lines are created by weak scanning process. to solve the problem, scan in quality mode or in custom mode, increase "noise reduction" value. also you can try sc...

Re: How to Reduce Noise in Scans?
Hi
one of the biggest reason for noises is the high value of Gain or ISO of your cameras. reduce these values and compensate it by increasing camera aperture or brightness of projector.

Re: Editing Scans/Editing Meshes
OK, lets say I have a shiny mechanical object (which has some flat surfaces). I coat my shiny object (with spray on powder or shampoo or whatever). Overall, the object is coated and looks good. But in a few spots, the spraying process spit out clumps or splats onto the surface of the object. (Need ...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
Many thanks 3dxcan. ASAP I'll send you the stl. Do you use also GOM inspect? I find it very powerful, fast and stable (and free). If anybody in the forum is using it, I'll appreciate an indication of doing the same verification with GOM. by this method it is not defined the source of error (badly m...
