Re: FlexScan3D - SLS Scanner Software

Hi Thomas! DIY is a very interesting direction for a hobby. People cannot afford expensive industrial scanners, but they can try to assemble them themselves using budget components. After all, additive technologies have long been included in our lives and help in many ways. It would be very interest...

Surface coating for scanning

Hello for everyon! To scan dark and glare surfaces you have to use a matte spray, but this spay is expensive. One of the cheaper options is to use a solution of isopropanol (or degreaser, which is even cheaper) with talc (50/50). The solution dries quickly and leaves a smooth matte finish. I did not...

Is the camera you are using monochrome or color camera?
The results are really excellent.
It is a colour camera with IMX265 1/1.8" SONY Exmor CMOS sensor.
I am making a new mount for camera and projector , so I hope that over time there will be more scans.

Re: Projector recommendations

I tried those macro lenses on my pf1500 too but found they introduced too much distortion to be useful. The error in calibration when way above acceptable values. What types of RMS values are you getting after calibrating with one of those lenses? Even still I found the 52mm adapter ring I mounted ...

Re: Projector recommendations

I bought them here (55mm):
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/buIW09A6

I am fixing them with adhesive tape, but this is not a successful solution. In the future I will print on the 3D printer a normal mount.
To my shame i still haven't checked RMS with this lens.
