Re: LG PF50

When you choose a lens, you have a certain flange focal distance. This usually is the distance between the mounting surface of the lens (when mounted flush onto the camera) and the ccd sensor. Of course your projector doesn't have a ccd sensor like a camera... But let's talk about the focal distance...

Re: YW500U3 cam incompatible on some USB3 chipsets?

Just to keep this topic updated:
I tried my camera on a recent Ryzen 3500u Laptop (Thinkpad E495) and it worked fine. I guess i'll have to either use my desktop machine or buy a new(er) laptop with either Ryzen or at least a 4th gen Intel (80 series chipset or newer).

Thank you for testing this. That is very good news. So i guess i should order a 2nd YW500U3M and then apply for a test license, if the camera is shipped fast enough... :D

Re: FS3D - Now available

Both the non-commercial and the subscription license seem to be reasonably priced. Thank you for keeping our DIY/David rigs alive :)

Will you still offer a trail/demo version (for ex. 3-4 days, just to see if the hardware is compatible with Flex3D) or is it replaced by the subscription license?

Re: First Scans With Flex.

Looks like a custom housing... So remove lens from the projector, stick it into the housing and mount the new lens onto the housing. Or even stack the lenses by just mounting the shown lens in front of the stock (unmodded) projector. Your results look great. I guess with a little tweaking and practi...

Re: FlexScan3D - SLS Scanner Software

Sounds great! For the DIY/Maker market it mainly comes down to cost, i guess. So let's see what you come up with when your software is ready to be released... I'm currently using a DIY rig with 720p dlp projector and a single 5mpix USB3 UVC camera. I read that your intention is to support dual-camer...

Re: YW500U3 cam incompatible on some USB3 chipsets?

Indeed i've used those tools extensively. That's how i noticed that the camera will only connect in USB1 mode ("low speed" in USBTreeView) when i install the Renesas driver instead of using the one shipped with Win10 (Microsoft WHQL). If i use the MS driver, then the camera connects in USB...

Re: YW500U3 cam incompatible on some USB3 chipsets?

Ok, so this is almost what i'm experiencing right now. Both laptops got an old HM55 Intel chipset, so first Gen Core (i5 620m and i5 460m cpus). Both run on Win10 20H2, the latest feature update. I tested downgrading one of them to Win7 and as you mentioned that made things worse. My main desktop ri...

YW500U3 cam incompatible on some USB3 chipsets?

It's been a while since i showed my first scans. Currently i'm running into issues with my YW500U3 camera. Up to now i ran it on my desktop machine which worked fine. As i proceed further i'd like to connect it to my laptop to have a portable rig. However, i'm unable to connect the camera to my old ...

Re: First scans with lowbudget rig

Having to use specific cameras and the limit of 3mpix doesn't sound that great. I'm still interested in your results with the new software. ---- I just finished building my 420mm panels and just placed them on the ground with some tape. The first alignment gave me a RMS value of 0.097 and i'm still ...
