Re: DIY automatic turntable FOR HP 3D Scan Pro 5.6.0

Hello, Im new to the forum stuff, So excuse my mistakes. So I made my own turntable for HP 3D Scan 5. Fully automatic. I expanded on what Jan Bastian Beck did on his website https://sites.google.com/site/janbeck/3d-scanner-turntable-for-david4/3d-scanner-turntable-for-david5. I've spent 2 weeks of ...

Re: New DIY turntable

I made the openscan turntable earlier in this year. Fun to build but not much use for me.... What I have missed for a long time is a slightly larger turntable that can handle a lite more weight. I looked in the garage what I had and designed with the parts I found. Cost was close to zero. Some 3D-p...

Re: 3D scanning - high resolution for small objects

Among the newer projector models, there are almost no options with suitable specifications. All manufacturers try to make the picture bigger by reducing the projection ratio. One of the best for use in a scanner is the LG PF1500, but the model is old and difficult to find even used on sale. Thank y...

Re: 3D scanning - high resolution for small objects

I guess we will all have to upgrade to 4K projectors. :) I do not know yet "real" 4k projectors (mostly there is pixel shift technology). While this is about the same as in cheap models from the DMD 0.23/0.33" 1366 * 768 matrix they make FullHD, but here they get 4k from the FullHD D...

Re: Can I save camera settings?

No, you cannot save the resolution settings. This is a limitation of both camera drivers and a "feature" of David / HP3DScan. P.S. In older versions of David (<4), it was easier to change the camera resolution (but it was not saved there either) ... and only one camera was supported) Than...

Re: How is the scan quality related to the projector's resolution?

Artifacts from a low-resolution projector look like evenly spaced very small stripes or rectangles (in fact, these are traces of the projector's matrix pixels). Ripples are usually caused by inaccurate timing of the camera's shutter speed relative to the frequency of the projector. In inexpensive c...

How is the scan quality related to the projector's resolution?

Hello This forum has helped me a lot. Currently, the camera uses 5M resolution, but the projector uses an older Toshiba model (1024X768). As shown in the picture below, the scan result is not smooth and embossing feeling and streaking occurs. Occasionally there are no streaks, but almost all of them...
