Re: 3D Scanning Honda Civic 2018

Cool. I did a number of cans of Ford pickups and Jeeps for an aftermarket company that is in the same complex . They used the scans to create contoured mounts for the LED lights they sold. I just provided the raw meshes and they had another company do the surface extraction. I'm very interested in w...

Re: Projector recommendations

I saw an interesting 1920*1080 projector from LG: https://www.projectorcentral.com/LG-PF50KA.htm did anybody tried it, or know if it's square pixels? When I was researching projectors I was able to find specifications regarding DLP DMD orientation, however is seems that most DMD chip makers are goi...

Handrest for a Swedish fighter jet:

Quite easy job. As usual 2x DMK 23UX236 with Computar 12mm and Optoma 750e.
RMS of 0,11 and 0,08. Calibration panels HP at 120mm. DIY Rotary table.
Mostly stereo mode except for the cavity (extended mode).
Great work.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Projector recommendations

Hello! I have LG PF1500G (06/2018). Minimum focal length is 29cm with 21*12cm pictures size. If I need to reduce the focal length, I can use lenses in front of the projector (Macro Close Up Lens filter +1+2+4+10 for Nikon from aliexpress). For example with a +2 lens, I can get 20cm focal length wit...

Re: car key

Nice work :-) The violin back looks like good calibration/scan meshing. Regarding the David cal panels, I always wondered how exactly they were made. I didn't start getting >.20 RMS error in calibrating till I made panels on the VMC. A fairly new VMC that had had a true positional accuracy of ~.000...

Re: 33UX264 camera, advice needed

When you get in to the higher resolution cameras lenses become a very important factor with David. Even though David can calibrate around some lens distortion, it it far better to have a little of it as possible to start with. One of the problems with very high resolution cameras (4K+) is that the ...

Re: 3D capture stage (turntable) on David SW

Hello, I get up using the Sprout G2 for 3D scanning (buggy USB3 controller and my hi-res cameras freezing). But I would like to use the turnatble for my hi-res setup. Well, I thought it would be easy, but it is not or I do something wrong. So I'm trying to install the 3D capture stage driver and Da...

Re: 33UX264 camera, advice needed

I have recently tested this camera. Works fine with David software but You have to install a DirecShow drivers and libraries from their SDK. The camera has a crazy lot of options that changes the resulting quality a lot. But very significant are the chosen lenses. Comparing to the other setup with ...
