Re: RangeVision DIY - my rig
I've been looking at those but always thought they were too expensive to give it a try. I haven't ordered anything from Aliexpress before. Might have to try Aliexpress for that price. Looking forward to what you come up with. Did you also buy the rail from Aliexpress as well?

Re: FS3D - Now available
Yeah, like @contactpolyga said, probably a permissions issue where it can't save the images.

Re: FS3D - Now available
@OBNRacerMan - I may be really off base here, I haven't even had time to play with FS3D yet, but does FS3D require 9x12 square calibration panels? I see yours look to be 7x12. Don't know if the software allows you to specify your own layout size. Anyway, just a guess.

Re: FlexScan3D - SLS Scanner Software
I started following David 3D many years ago and was sad to see it handed over to HP, where it appears to be dying. I would like to find a DIY alternative that is actively supported. Possibly FlexScan3D will be that for me and others. I would like to see support for Imaging Source cameras since that ...

Re: Tripod suggestions
Thanks for the photo. I wasn't sure what to expect, but now that I see it I think I've seen you post something about it before. I assuming it's all steel and stable because of the weight. Are you using a ball head camera mount on the end? Also, how did you get such a large calibration panel square?

Re: Tripod suggestions
@Micr0 - Do you have a picture of a gantry stand? Is this what you are using? I'm not sure I've seen anything like that for a scanner/camera before.
Also, did you mean Manfrotto? I'm not familiar with the Manfredo brand.
Thanks.

Tripod suggestions
So, I'm trying to update my system and starting to look into buying a better tripod. Guessing my equipment (cameras and projector will weigh about 3 to 5 lbs - aluminum rail is about 2 feet long). Does anyone have any recommendations for something relatively stable/strong, adjustable, and hopefully ...

Re: Camera upgrade question - IR filters / shutters
Thanks again OBNRacerMan. I'm hoping the device/camera name isn't an issue. I'm not sure how I would change them for the Imaging Source cameras.
