Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Here we go: I start understansing a little bit more how to treat some little imperfections.

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Dear All, I decided to switch to a simle form for my testing. I realized alignement needs improvements, so I practiced on a piece of wood. 2017-11-21_09-17-24.png Dimension are in good agreement with my caliper up to 0.08-0.14 mm. It's not easy to take measurement on stl :-) So I think It's a starti...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Many thanks Micro. I was thinking to ask you about the 2nd Cam. Although I guess you already had very good results aligning scans with a single cam, do you think a newby will benefit for having a 2nd cam in extended mode? Have you found easier to align with two cam, especially a complex free-form 36...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

I agree there's plenty of room for further improvements, starting from panels. Panels are made of: -melamine particle board 19mm -dots printed with inkjet printer on photographic paper -paper glued with spray contact glue I already found a visible deformation with my knife edge ruler. Sorry for post...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Hi to all, I gave a tried to GOM inspect 2016, free version:

I have to check the perpendicularity of my panel: it is measured as 90.05°:
90.05°.jpg
Then I can fit planes (easy and straighforward):

Here you have deviations from fitted planes:

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Many thanks 3dxcan.
ASAP I'll send you the stl.

Do you use also GOM inspect? I find it very powerful, fast and stable (and free).
If anybody in the forum is using it, I'll appreciate an indication of doing the same verification with GOM.

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Did some work. Fusion was not exticing: various areas are not overlapped. fusion_1.jpg fusion.jpg It ain't bad (1500-2), but I lack in alignement precision. Do I have to work on scan quality (distorsion)? I guess wavyness is partially due to optical refraction of lights in wood. But misalignement he...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

I double-checked my NVidia Control Panel: it does not allow me to use a "non-native" resolution. That sounds a little bit unusual. I'm using an HDMI cable with a displayport adaptor. I can choose a different resolution (i.e. 1920x1080 at 60Hz) but I did not succeed in creating an effective...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision

Although I already saw many posts in the past, I still did not find how to change projector refresh rate in decimals. My card does not allow my to change this number in decimals: as soon as I save a 58.540 Hz, it save it as 59. Images ar quite stable, with no bands moving up and down. I can only see...
