Finally a worthy scan!
It was a bit of a struggle but I finally have a scan I'm proud of! There were many more before this one but they had issues and weren't worth sharing. It was quite the learning experience along the way and learned a lot! I was beginning to lose faith in my setup but now I'm fully confident that it i...

Reviving this thread
Other than the "loose shaft" were there any other issues with the Ergotron arm?
What others types /brands of arms is everybody else using?

Re: Projectors... and Projector Mods.
Could you tell us what they are? Then we'll know what to avoid. Also as far as the two projectors I mentioned, that is what is used in the SLS systems that LMI sold bundled with Flexscan. Actually it was the Optoma HD142X and the BenQ HT1075 that was used in their HDI R3X and R4X, respectively. The ...

Re: Projectors... and Projector Mods.
The k132 from Acer has been discontinued for a while now. It'd be best to look at other alternatives.
For scanning larger objects, how about the Optoma HD142X or even the BenQ HT2050?

Re: Advice on first camera selection
UPDATE:
After a bit more research, I settled on a pair of 33UX265 monochrome Imaging Source cameras purchased from oemcameras.com. Unfortunately I still don't have lenses to test so I can't see anything useful on the screen. Once the lenses are in I can begin designing proper mounts for everything.

Re: A Comparison of David and Artec Eva
Excellent work Micro. The results from the Eva scan aren't nearly as desirable as David's.
May I ask what your current SLS system consists of right now, Micro?

Re: Advice on first camera selection
Before ordering the lens, I'll run some calculations. I know I've come across a calculator or 2 for focal length/view. As for the cameras, I'm leaning more towards the IS models as David/HP supports them in Stereo mode. The 33ux178 is the least expensive of the bunch and naturally has a rolling shut...

Re: Advice on first camera selection
Jeff, I'm assuming you're using David/Hp3dscan with your FLIR cameras, correct? Have you been able to try out Flexscan3d with them?
