Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
I'm using the exact same parts. Also ZLKC 12mm 5mpix F1.4 cmount and the YW500 camera. Here's what i had to do to get the focus range right: The black adapter ring (blue marking on the picture) was too far screwed into the camera. I unscrewed the setscrew (red), moved the black adapter ring outwards...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
Whoah. That's a lot and way too much...! Are you sure this is a C-mount and not CS-mount camera? You already tried to focus with the focus ring on the lens? As said above, i've got a gap of about a millimeter between lens and camera, not more. You got about 5mm on the picture which is the difference...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
Well, a single turn of the lens made a difference of being able to focus at 1-2 meters vs. ~200mm. A quarter turn moves the focus range by a lot on my camera+lens setup. If i screw the lens in completely i can't focus closer than about 2 meters which is unusuable for small objects. C-mount got a thr...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
We're talking C-mount camera and C-mount lens here (at least i hope so). My YW500 (c-mount) and my ZLKC lens (also c-mount) got a bit of tolerance in the c-mount threads and thus i can reach a smaller distance than c-mount has got. That's why i needed to unscrew the lens a bit to reach the desired 1...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
Greetings, If i fully screw the lens onto the camera body, then it's out of focus too. Try to unscrew the lens by half a turn or even a full turn. Then fix it with the small setscrew on the camera body to prevent it from becoming loose. This will change the focus range of the lens and you'll be able...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
Yes, only one camera was used. I haven't made further tests yet, as i'm a bit short on time right now. But i'll update this topic when i start scanning again. I'll build bigger calibration panels first.

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
Alright... I made myself some panels using din A4 cardboard with printed markers and some wooden panels. Calibration worked right away. Then i went on to make a first testscan... I sacrificed my trusty rubberduck for the cause and this is the result. 30 Scans (360° loop) were made on a single height...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
I thought i'd keep you guys updated... My parts from china finally arrived. I went with OBNRacers recommendation and bought the 12mm ZLKC lens which fits nicely with the YW500U3 camera. The FOV is also perfect. The setup works so far, but i now need calibration plates. I printed them on cardboard as...

Re: Does david support GigE interface camera?
Greetings. Afaik it doesn't out of the box. GigE is a proprietary standard used by different manufacturers across the industry. However, if the cameras software supports an output format which David can make use of, then it might work. David should be able to recognize any camera which behaves like ...

Re: SLS on a budget - camera and lens choice
I went further and modelled all parts and viewing angles in CAD as i'll need that anyways for my mounting brackets. Here's what it looks like with 1/2.5" sensor (YW500U3) and 12mm lens (ZLKC HM1214MP5). The blue rectangle is the FOV of the camera (~1150mm distance to object) and the yellow one ...
