Re: Pointgrey Grasshopper3 3.2 MP

I think more resolution at same sensor size gives you smaller pixels and by that less sensitivity. so if you have to stop down your lens for higher depth of sharpness and/or if you scan large areas where the projection is darker, you will have more noise. another point might be that with really larg...

Re: Projector lenses etc.

I tried to sketch the geometry inside the K11 from memory, please no comments on my drawing skills :P The left is when you look from top, the right is when you look from the right side. I had the Lens removed and could see the mirror and the DMD chip. CCF14122016.jpg The problem is, that when you lo...

Re: Pointgrey Grasshopper3 3.2 MP

I have better scan times with Imaging Source DMK 23UX236 (same as David Cam 4), by feeling it is around 2sec at high quality, max. 3sec. If I remember right, at 1920x1200 it captures at 54fps. But it has rolling shutter. It is not RGB24 but some Grayscale protocol, don't know the exact name. There i...

Re: Projector lenses etc.

My motivation to change the projector lens is twofold. First is to change the focal length to better match my cameras. High resolution lenses are expensive and it's better to replace one projector lens than two camera lenses. The resolution of the projector is less critical. Second, regarding lens s...

Re: Reverse Engineering

I haven't done any reverse engineering yet. Only some of the members from the old forum have registered here. Maybe those doing reverse engineering haven't moved yet here? Thanks to christmas, I haven't found the time yet to contact more members from the old forum and ask them, if they want to come ...

Re: Not Mine :)

hehe thats really funny. I think Davids/HPs way of selling rebranded consumer stuff at 3x the price is not the best idea. I bought the same cameras, the same beamer as they sell and not a single cent went into davids pocket. But maybe there are still enough people paying the premium?

Re: Projector lenses etc.

When I opened the Acer K11, I immediately discarded the thought to replace the lens. But maybe there is a way. The main problems to overcome in my opinion: flange back distance (german: auflagemaß): you have to find a lens that is designed to be mounted far enough from the sensor. C-mount has a FBD ...

Re: The Optomise Dual Camrea Setting?

I have almost the same problem and posted in the HP forum. Think it was 2 weeks ago. until now i didn't get a response. Yet I hope, this has reached Sven anyway. When I reported some crashes on my PC, they published a new version only a few days later. Maybe it makes sense to post over there or repl...
