Re: David5 - dual FireWire camera

To be honest, I have no idea. Have you tried to contact the David/HP support directly? No idea if there is a point in this now after the merge, but I would at least try it.
Sorry to be of so little help :(

Re: David V5 extended mode: need alignment?

At least they could automagically do fine registration between the 2 scans and make a group of them. That would be usefull anyway, so you are always free to to break them up later and use them individually. My question over at the hp forum about deviations in stereo mode hasn't got an answer yet. It...

New categories

I just changed our categories as discussed in the thread "Next steps". What do you think? I'm still not happy with "Hardware/Accesoires". Should we just remove it? Leave it as it is now?

Re: Oteck's Arca swiss style setup

I have dissasembled the K11 to insert a 1mm plate that moves the lens group a bit outwards. I don't see a way to get rid of the lensshift/keystone easily. everything in there is made for the lensshift. i think for K132/K135 it's the same. regarding lensposition: i would say, the extra lens should be...

Re: Pointgrey Grasshopper3 3.2 MP

No idea. Are they color or monochrome? I don't know if color might be a disadvantage. Apart from scan quality, texture quality improved a lot, when I switched form Logitech 9000pro webcams (color) to DMK 23UX236 (monochrome). But this might also be because they are the far better cams anyway :-P I w...

Re: µ Rig of the week

The correct section is "Rundoptiken" -> "Achromat". It's certainly possible to calculate, but not for me :P But you already have the closeup lens set? I think the values they give is in dioptres, so its 1,2,4,10 dipotres. focal length = 1000mm / dioptres. So for example your 4 di...

Re: µ Rig of the week

I tried those closeup lenses too. mine were very bad quality with a lot of distortion and chromatic abberation. Only when I use achromats, results are good. Achromats for photography are starting at 50€ per lens. In germany, I found one shop who sells cheaper ones, but they are bare glass, so you ha...

Re: Oteck's Arca swiss style setup

hmm, i'm surprised. I also use the K132 and the DMK 23UX236, which has a 1/2.8 sensor, so even a bit larger than yours. But i feel i would need a shorter lens, because the beamer image is quite much bigger than the camera fov. edit: does C-mount vs CS-mount make a difference? I don't think so, but...

Re: Oteck's Arca swiss style setup

About optics: I found the computar 12mm F1.4 optics, which David is using for 25..50€ on ebay. That is with a lot of patience. I think it took me around 3 months. I have the feeling, that resolution of cameras and projector are not the limiting factors in my setup, but it is mainly the shallow depth...

Re: Oteck's Arca swiss style setup

Wow, the flexibility is really impressive! Im envious! If you buy everything new, it's not cheap, but I guess you had many parts anyway.
