Re: Help deciding on buying scanner
Dear greenskynet, I understand your position as a software developer/seller. But since this post was meant to suggest a solution to a new user, he would need a regular FS3D license. Tell me, my friends: Where can he/she buy it? How much for that? RV license was 350ish when I bought it. I am perfectl...

Re: Help deciding on buying scanner
RV is a good software too, but as you may know due to political issues for Russia, RV can't export goods and services to foreign (RV is from Russia). As you told us, even flexscan did not sell their software to your country (when F3D was still in the market). This does not stop you from make profit...

Re: Help deciding on buying scanner
Hi, A DIY stationary scanner based on RangeVision would provide precise results, well suited for your purpose. People often scan car parts with these kind of setup. It will cost like a couple of MINI (for license and HW), and will require a bit of work for putting projector and cameras together. But...

Re: First Scans with Revopoint Mini
I was fascinated too by the tracking. edit: I hoped I could use the mini as an hand scanner. I saw once an old Artec EVA in action, and I was impressed by how easy was to keep the tracking. I was disappointed by how easy was to loose tracking with the Rev mini, at least with my objects. edit 2: thes...

Re: Some scans of Revopoint MINI
Hi there. I sold the mini. For two reasons 1-unable to scan surface I can easily manage with RangeVision: varnished wood 2-handheld scanning needs markers every cm to get a decent tracking. Feature based registration is not working with my objects, which are quite "flat" in most parts. I d...

Re: Some scans of Revopoint MINI
I am waiting too for the handheld stabilizer. I just tried a few minutes and I could get some tracking rotating the object by hand and keeping the mini still on its pedestal. Also I got some realistic tracking with the object still and holding by hand. I am just reporting they shipped it, it's a coo...

Re: Some scans of Revopoint MINI
I received it and tested for a few minutes. Well, a different beast from DIY structured light scanner. Now I have to leard how to use it. I know it's far less detailed than my actual setup (Range Vision). Also is limited in scanning medium and big stuff. I bought it to scan stuff on the fly (museum,...
