Re: David scanned by David - work in progress
Hi, You must in install the FULL Flycapture SDK (download from Point grey). During installation, you must select "complete" Then select at one point "directshow driver". Once the installation is finished, you should see the PG camera within David. Because of the weak implementati...

Re: David scanned by David - work in progress
@ 3DXSCAN,
I can't do that right now. But I will it give it a try when possible.
I would do it with a 30 cm calibration pane and not a 1 m one.
Is that what you are interested in ?
When looking at Micr0 scans, I think some of the engines or parts are 1 m wide (?).

Re: David scanned by David - work in progress
@ Micr0, Sorry, I didn't see your last question previously. Yes, that's correct. I set the FPS to 59.846 The shutter to: 15.10ms The PointGrey software has an "absolute mode" for the input which is 1 by 1 incremental. I set FPS to 60, then switch to absolute mode and fine tune until the le...

Re: Low distortion Lens for 23ux236
From what I understand, you are trying to figure out what is causing your alignment problems. I would test at F-8 or F-11. If the scene is too dark, push the gain up just to test. It will maybe give you bad surface but for the moment, you are trying to find where the distortion is coming from. If us...

Re: Alignment problems
It's hard to judge from a screenshot with that side of panel on an angle.
Questions:
What are the angles between camera and projector (horizontal and vertical)
Are you scanning only in horizontal or both ?
What version of David ?
What camera ?
How is your panel made ?
Jeff

Re: David scanned by David - work in progress
Micr0, Narmella, Thanks. I am happy with the precision during the alignment, the speed and the surface is nearly perfect. The fusion process does removes most of the remaining small waves. Narmella, I remember that even with Lestscan, I was having problems with surface artifacts. I am sure this is d...

Re: David scanned by David - work in progress
When I was using a rolling shutter with a DSLR (Canon, Panasonic and Nikon), lines would be going across the screen. I made adjustments to minimize those lines. With a global shutter, you don't see the lines crossing the screen anymore but the images is glowing dark - light - dark -light until you g...
