Re: Monochrome Camera
I think it is not only sharpness but also sensitivity. If you put a color filter in front of every pixel, i suppose that the light intensity that reaches the pixels is 1/3 at most, maybe even less. And sharpness has to be lower as color and mono use the same sensor with the same amount of pixels. Fo...

Re: which lens is best for use with K132+ and 1" camera?
This could be the single pixels of the K132. The DMD-Chip in the projector has its pixelplane rotated by 45°, everyone calls it diamond-shaped pixels. Maybe with the 50mm lens you get enough magnification to discern them? or it is some kind of interference?

Re: which lens is best for use with K132+ and 1" camera?
As far as I know, HP/David still use a 12mm lens with the 23UX236. The sensor is a sony IMX236, which has a diagonal of 6,4mm. Your 23UX174 has a diagonal of 13,4mm, a bit more than twice. For the same field you view as the sls-3 camera, you would need a ~24mm lens. For the Acer K132, I found 12mm o...

Re: what is the advantage of 2nd cam in David?
I have to admit that I hardly used my scanner since switching to proper industrial cameras. Still busy with to many other projects and I want to change my setup further. The classical faith of hobby projects  You can always add a second camera though, so I would start out with a single camera s...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
Thanks again to all for your precious support. I'm going to start from the basic setup: ACER k132-135, dmk 23ux236+12mm 1.2 Cosmicar-Pentax. If somebody has a suggestion for red-IR line laser, I'll probably give a chance also to laser scanning. Best wishes to all! I would rather go for a 10mm lens....

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
I just looked up, what the stuff ist called. It is Cyclododecane. I think it is possible, that it has no effect on the varnish. From what I read, it is a solid powder that evaporates into gaseous form after some time. Wikipedia says, it is used to conserve sensitive archeological objects temporarily...

Re: Projecting an SLS system: Scanning precision
There is also this spray, they use to detect leaks, which evaporates after some hours without any residue. I haven't used it myself though.
