Re: Pointgrey Grasshopper3 3.2 MP
Lenses are a big problem when you get into the Higher resolution/larger sensor cameras. Not be cause they aren't out there but because they are almost impossible to find used and are expensive new. The biggest issue I found is that the lenses themselves are very often not high enough resolution. Eve...

Re: µ Rig of the week
Hi Micr0, Do you have an extra lens in front of the projector ? I have been having problems with alignment and fusion. I believe it is coming from distortion of the close-up lens. Jeff For this setup yes. David should calibrate for for some lens distortion. how close are you and what length lenses ...

Re: Oteck's Arca swiss style setup
I think the moment you start using higher resolution is when you start using MFT, SLR, and mirrorless camera glass. Recently i picked up a pair of 25mm c-mount for a 1:1 2.8" but it's way too narrow. it may be good for macro but this would require some hefty up close lens for the projector. Is...

I wound up with lenses that forced me to place the cameras behind the projector or lose a significant porti...

Re: Oteck's Arca swiss style setup
We ought to move some of this thread to a different post that's more optic oriented, I'm still trying to figure out how to mount a up close lens on the k132 I got one of the cheap vivatar filter packs that are sold on eBay and took one of the star filters (who uses those things?), removed the lens ...

Re: µ Rig of the week
Glad some of the veterans are making their way back! µ Rig of the week
Current 2 camera set up. I tend to redesign things about once a month so who knows how long this set up will last. It's been working really well so I may keep it an focus on making a smaller turntable. The 2 axis Trunion you can partially see in the picture works great but I originally designed it f...
