Re: Can David do Automatic ََAlignment?
"Please look at Manual Scan Sequence mode. All scans made during a sequence will be automatically "aligned to previous"." This is what Seven says on the forum, so that means auto alignment is available in V5? I don't have David available for anytime soon, so I can't try. please l...

Re: Another Structured Light Scanner
its a bluelight LED scanner, they perform better compared to white light scanners, apparently because the camera can then differentiate it with sunlight and other light sources. Regarding the projector, has anyone used industrial projectors for 3d scanning with DAVID? what is the benefit of using th...

Re: Can someone explain photogrammetry?
I have the manual for TRITOP, it helps to better understand photogrammetry procedure, which includes calibration of the photogrammetry camera. you should be interested in that too. it works simply by 2 bars, with target points at each end. I can send you the manual. send me your email address in pri...

What do you do with your 3D scans?
a lot of people use their scans for 3d printing. some use them for reverse engineering, some export the stl file to their CAM software for direct manufacturing from STL and some do it as a hobby, Does anyone use DAVID here for RE & manufacturing purpose?

Re: Mongrels Setup
just wondering if your AAXA 125 Lumen projector is enough for 3d scanning in a normally lit room in daylight, or do you do it in a dark room?

Re: Can someone explain photogrammetry?
After replying to the question of 3dxcan, I realized that I have a very weak understanding of photogrammetry. Maybe someone can help me out? My understanding of photogrammetry is, that basically you take several photographs of the surface to be reconstructed from different positions. The algorithm ...

Re: Can David do Automatic ََAlignment?
there;s always room for improvement and customization, even reaching for the scan button in manual scan should be facilitated. a simple solution would be to install a remote desktop application on your phone and pc to take control of david on your phone while moving the part on the table. has anyone...

Re: Can David do Automatic ََAlignment?
We don't. David took that out in V5. Subsequently they disabled the automatically align to previous function. I guess they were trying to boos sales of David turntables.
Its frustrating, most of the usable 3D SLS systems align each scan automatically without user intervention with ...

Re: Can David do Automatic ََAlignment?
I just read some more about those target points. It seems like many photogrammetry scanners need them to align all the photographs taken from different viewpoints to each other before reconstruction of the 3d surface. So you have to make sure, that the scanner knows how the pictures belong together...
