Re: Scanning Technologies, Pros/Cons
Hi Micr0, We are gonna make a test on Thursday where we are gonna first hand measure a couple rollers, then scan them using the artec spider again and then visit a company who got a laser scanner with camera stand, unfortunately don't remember the brand but they use it to scan sheet metal details. ...

Re: Scanning Technologies, Pros/Cons
Hi Micr0, Well, the rollers we scanned were about all between Ø190 - Ø80 mm. The rollers are split to make manufacturing easier and if they are combined which we have scanned them the dimension comes in even dimensions of 125, 105, 85, 65, 45 mm. When it comes to accuracy, these rollers are forming...

Re: Plug, Play, and Display - TI DLP® LightCrafter™ Display 2000 EVM
who has ever tested this projector ?? http://www.ti.com/tool/DLPDLCR2000EVM I hadn't seen this one. The resolution is pretty low but the other TI projector/dev boards were much more expensive. I always wanted to try one of these. Especially because it would allow you to sync it easily with the IS c...

Re: 23UX236 or 23U236 ?
Hi MicrO, thank you very very much for the informations ! I found a reseller of imaging source brand here in Italy at last , so I will probably go for the 23ux174 model ( even if the cost is double than the 23ux236). About the lenses do you have some suggestions for the 60 mm scanning ? I don't rea...

Re: Scanning Technologies, Pros/Cons
Hi, For some time I have been modeling in cad with point clouds and recently our company decided to take on the challenge of scanning steel forming rolls. They rented a 3D scanner which uses structured light as it's scanning technique with a tolerance of 0.1mm. https://www.artec3d.com/portable-3d-s...

Re: 23UX236 or 23U236 ?
My mystake: 23UX236 or 23UX174 is the topic. Sorry. When I first started with David (v3ish) the David people would say that a rolling shutter is not the best for scanning. A lot of people were using web cams which all had rolling shutters and were getting pretty good results. The actual David camer...
