Re: Lines in scan

1) Your scan of the panel is pretty good. Don't forget that fusion will remove some surface artifacts. You can also use smooth option at the scan level. It depends on the precision you are looking for and the purpose of the scan. One last option is to download the trial version of Zbrush and very qu...

Re: Projector lenses etc.

Interesting.

I had a bad experience with too much distortion using simple Vivitar +1,+2, etc.. macro close up filters.

I wonder if this "2X" will induce a lot of distortion ?

If not, it a great idea, and certainly easier then taken apart the projector for a full lens replacement.

Re: Projector lenses etc.

The Acer K135 can focus at 28 cm (front of projector to wall)

The image projected is 20 x 13 cm

With a close-up lens, I get focus on a 30 mm panel.

The idea was more in regards to the comfort that a zoom lens would provide. Not needing to be so close to the objects.

Re: Projector lenses etc.

I have a few Canon lens. I tried today to put them in front of the lens of the Acer K135, just to see what would happen. The only lens that could provide a clear image was a 70-300 mm. The focus point was at 200mm when the front of the lens was at 33 cm from the wall. The square with the adjustment ...

Re: Show your DIY Calibration board

Great topic ! Some questions: How is the pattern printed ? On what kind of paper ? Do you use different printing technique depending on size of panel How is the print "glued" to the board ? How to have the pattern perfectly square to the panel ? How to have a perfectly flat surface (no bub...

Re: Projector lenses etc.

My previous message should have read: "The left panel is smooth and the right one has waves. This is with a single camera on the left side of the projector." I wonder if items that are parallel to the plane of the camera chip (right panel is parallel to camera chip) are more prone to surfa...

Re: Projector lenses etc.

I had also looked at this back in the days when you were removing the fan in the Optima 8-) http://www.opto-engineering.com/products/LTPRHP3W-high-performance-led-projector This would be great. I don't know the cost. Frequency, pixel orientation, resolution, lens quality, distortion...many things th...

Re: Pointgrey Grasshopper3 3.2 MP

Yes, there are differences: Sony IMX252 (2064 (H) × 1544 (V) approx. 3.19M pixels, 3.45 μm : Sensitivity: 915 mV Sony IMX174 (1920 (H) × 1200 (V) approx. 2.3M pixels, 5.86 μm : Sensitivity: 850 mV I guess I will lose 8% sensitivity. I can live with that, if other inconvenience don't show up. Except ...
