Looking for a projector, I have found this project.
They use a couple of Optoma and a Basler camera. And they speak about syncro:

The design, of course, is interesting ...
The price of one such projector (in Russia - $815) is comparable to the price of an excellent camera based on a SONY IMX 174 sensor (approximately $800 + a good ~ $86 lens).
