Scanning through porthole/plastic

Post by JeanBat »

Hello,

I work in the nuclear industry, and i wish to launch a project of 3D Scanning.
The aim is to scan the inside of hermetic boxes. So we have a constraint, the scan must be done through a plastic porthole of 10 mm. I consider using simple scanner like ARTEC 3D EVA or CREALITY SCAN. I dont seek for a big precision, but more for a global knowledge of the inside of the boxes (like a 0.5cm precision could be enough).

Do you guys know if it is possible ? Or if solutions already exist for this types of problems ?

Dentists use intraoral scanners,
which are good for object of the dimension of a teeth.

If the objects are movable industrial X-ray CT will give you everything you need at higher resolution.
you just need to find a service in the nearby.
A medical CT would be enough for your resolution request.

How big are these boxes?
