Qlone

Post by Mac-7 »

All the video’s demonstrate how easy Qlone is to use

But it does not work for me

On my iPhone 6s plus the dome appears but when I scan the tiles never disappear and no model is created

I wonder if its just me or is the software no good?

I have since moved on to TRNIO

Its working better but not good enough to make usable 3d models from

But it looks more promising

I think that instead of holding the camera and walking around the object I may need a tripod and a lazy susan

I just got the latest Qlone for my iPhone 10. I even paid for the pro version.

I also have a small tripod and a small lazy Susan to make scanning easy. But even with various scaled mats I downloaded from the website - 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 75%, and 100% sizes - I am not getting any usable results.

I have scanned my Benchy and a part I want to scan. Its a small part a little bigger than a US Quarter with a tab. The best I get even with a 25% mat is a scan that looks like it is made out of dog food. And the benchy looks like it is partially melted. This is even with adding another scan to each. I have messed with lighting as well.

Has ANYONE ever got Qlone to do more than make a play dough facsimile of what they are scanning? I am wondering if it works at all.

This program (like most programs of this level) is designed to obtain a textured model, where the texture hides the imperfections of the object's shape. There is no way to get a high-quality 3D model (and especially if it is small).
