Those are very sharp scans. Have you looked at the RMS error value on your calibration. Just curious what numbers you get?

1. and 2. scan
The RMS error values are 0.16 - 0.18 and I used a 60mm calibration panel.
3.scan(gear)
RMS error values are 0.163 - 0.187 and I used 120mm calibration panel

Nice scan erol. How do you align the two sides of the gear together. If possible to show some picture of the scan setup

Very nice!
Small "claydots" for alignment?

Hello.
I did the gear scan 3 months ago, I don't have it right now.
This is the way I'm going to scan gear parts.
1. Scan the top surface
2. Position the piece upright and scan it 360 degrees and align it to the number 1 scan group.
3. Scan the bottom surface and align it to the scan group 2.
I put claydots on the top, bottom and sides of the object. I'll align the scans with claydots
.

a few scans
I was absent for a long time due to the intensity of my work.
I bought a new scanner for large objects (thunk3d fisher s handheld scanner).
I'll be adding samples scanned with this scanner soon.
