It turned out great, considering that it was done in HP3Dscan, where there is no way to combine separate parts of the scans by labels.
Soft: RangeVision DIY, Calibration panel/Rotary tables - RangeVision, Prj: LG PF1500G, Cam: Daheng Mercury MER2-630-60U3M-L (USB3.0, monochrome) x2, Obj: ZLKC FM12036MP5 (F2.8/5Mp/12-36mm) x2. And a handheld scanner Creality Ferret

Am I to assume that in RV you can do this?

Yes, marker support was one of the reasons why I switched to this software (of course, easier calibration with flat panels and the presence of an automatic turntable are also important.
P.S. And now the table can be made by yourself - they (RV) recently laid out for us the necessary information about the DIY firmware of the table to work with their program.

That is awesome that they allow you to use your DIY turntable 👏

Does RV have a remote trigger option?

I don't quite understand what is meant by "remote trigger" in this case.
If you mean starting scanning, then you can start typing by pressing the button on the screen, or the "space" key on the keyboard.
If we are talking about using additional connectors for external synchronization available on some cameras, then most likely this is not the case.
P.S. Or an option like HP3DScan - when the program looks at changes in the frame, and while they are there, it waits, and as soon as it notices their absence, it starts scanning itself - I have not seen this here.

I meant being able to listen to a comm port and trigger off an received character.

No, I have not heard about such a function yet. But if there are many who want to get it, then RV will implement it - here I like that there is feedback and they listen to the opinions of users (of course, not everything can be implemented, but something appears sooner or later, making the software even more convenient)
