a quick scan for reverse engineering .
it is a drive gear wheel for an excavator.

Re: My Scan Projects Modified version of FS
my new Reverse Engineering case .
it is an Aluminum part with huge corrosion.
I redesign it for making patterns for AL casting.

Re: My Scan Projects Modified version of FS
My new scan, a double suction impeller
450mm diameter
This was one of the best impeller I've scanned so far. Very accurate machining and very beautiful casting.
all deep areas are captured successfully and the reverse engineering was satisfying.
I scanned it from about 1.2 meter distance, and you can see the surface details on my scan.
and let's take a look on the accuracy on this scan
on the original part, I read this diameter for about 264.98 on one side and 264.99 on the other side, using my digital caliper.
and you can see the related numbers on my scan. The difference is less than 0.01mm~0.02mm.
and this is not accidental numbers. If it was accidental, it should not been repeated in the diameter of both sides.
This is the accuracy that we can get from our DIY Professional 3D Scanners

New Reverse Engineering project
it is a gearbox cap.
I got excellent accuracy on this part. 0.01mm on machined diameters and also for positioning pins.
this is scan data, in modified version of FlexScan3D
and this is the CAD design and also the CNC milling part, for casting pattern (casting mold)
