Hello everyone,
I need a bit of advice with buying a 3D scanner. My needs are basically to scan the insides of vehicles but just the surface to get the exact size of the scanned surface for example the dashboard surface or instrument cluster.
My thinking for using a 3D scanner for this is because they have curves on the edges and holes in certain places. Any advice would be appreciated with which one would get the job done.
Thank you

Shining3D HX, revopoint trackit, MetroX
these are some good solution for handheld scanning, accuracy is good, but resolution is low, still it is good enough for your purpose.

You might also want to check out the new scanners from Shining – the Einstar 2 and RockIt. The RockIt allows for laser scanning without markers, if absolutely necessary. Both of these scanners also have a VCEL module for infrared scanning. I also liked the fact that the WiFi modules are built directly into the body, and the replaceable batteries are also inserted, allowing for a very compact design. After purchasing the RockIt, I sold my previous Revopoint MetroX (it's an older model that only works via cable and requires an external power source).
P.S. There's also the new Revopoint Inspire 2 – it has IR crosshair lasers.
