3D-scanning stuffed animals for a game

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to 3D-scanning, have been using Kinect+Skanect before but I'm looking to upgrade my setup for a new project where I will 3D-scan a range of stuffed animals for a game. The animals range in size from about 10cm to 2m, but most are around half to one meter. My budget for this is maximum $1000. I will have a professional studio lighting setup.

I was looking into the Structure Sensor but it seems like it doesn't work that well for objects bigger than a head. I don't mind some colour or surfaces issues since I will clean up and retopologize the objects afterwards, but big alignment issues are a problem. Is the 3D Systems Sense scanner better for larger objects? Is there another scanner you'd recommend?

I dont think that structured light scanner will be suitable for scanning of objects covered with fur. I once tried scanning my face, and the hair were completely ignored byscanner. I think that the photogrammetry would work for your animals. Take a look at agisoft photoscan
