Which equipment do you use for 3D-scanning?

... when developing special video-microscopes I've built optics with GRIN- and rod-lenses - got pretty fine resolution and super high DOF (e.g. image size 0,8x0,6mm, DOF 2mm!).

Have some of the optics in my "tinker-boxes", so could test with "micro-scanning" - my smallest beamer image was something like 20x15mm (could be even smaller) ... but actualy more busy with lasers ...

That sounds super sexy :) There is some discussion about lenses for projection here. I would be happy to read more about such a setup.

... did some tests with modifying projectors and condensing lenses - here a post showing the smallest possible image without and with a condensing lens (achromat) to a Casio DLP:

... here some results with different setups:

... and here, in the attached images a bunch of gears and infos while making the first test:

Not to hijack back my own thread :D ...

I built a counter balances mono stand. This is a huge improvement over a tripod in terms of flexibility. I got a fluid drag head on Ebay and built;t the rest. the counterweight is a 300mm long piece of 1080 steel I had to turn down to fit into the 52mmx52mm column. This Stand can not only move around an object much more easily but can also get right up close to the turntable for scanning small objects.

Great work.

I have this for many years (old studio days), but in storage for the moment. I cannot use it a home or go to clients with it :D

That's essentially what I was going for. I'm in New York (big professional photography town [in fact my father was a pro photographer]) so anything camera related (even Used) is fetching good prices. No real bargains. Used, a good stand like that is $800+. Rusty ones only slightly less so. I also needed it to come apart easily to transport. This stand makes a huge difference in so many ways. First is that it's so much easier to position. close, far, Up Down, Easy. I can also get very close to small subjects whether on my trunnion or on a work table.
