A few years ago, HP has stopped releasing software updates for the DAVID5 / HP3DScan5 software.
Here's some good news for old (and new) users: Update 5.7 removes the copy protection, so that no USB Dongle or license file is required anymore.
It may be a bit hard to find, so here's the link to HP 3D Scan 5.7:
