Brio Webcam

Had a chance to check out the Brio webcam that came in. It appears to be working in respect to the Brio's settings in David. I resolution/compression wise I get the following.

1920x1080 YUY2 @30 FPS
3840x2160 MJPG @30 FPS, 1920x1030 MJPG @60 FPS
1920x1080 NV12 @30 FPS

The frame rate is kind of odd thing it acts a bit funny with the 3840x2160 MJPG @ 30 setting. I had it reset to 5 fps once. Will try to get a scan in this weekend with the stock hardware before setting it up for CS lens.

Having issues getting the Brio to calibrate on the 4k output. Having to play with the settings quite a bit to get electrical noise out of the system and still bring the brightness into check. I'm wondering if the camera is over riding me turning off the low light compensation.

Question of the day obviously there are no IR/UV filters on the Brio camera since I have modded it with the CS mount case. Could some of my surface texture be coming from the IR/UV spectrum. What type of IR/UV filter should I look at using?

best I could get scanning the corner 120mm. Could the texture be lack of uv/ir filter related?

I'd say no. That looks very good and at first glance loos about as good as I have gotten. Don't go solely by the scan of the corner. Do a few scans of something, align and fuse them and see how things look. Post a picture of your scans fused at 1500 or 2000 with the smoothing set to at least 2 and lets see. The more systems I get to play with the more I realize that what you want in the scans is overall accuracy not necessarily smoothness. It's always best to get things as good as possible, but remember the law of diminishing returns. Smoothing and error filtering can be done to some degree in software/post processing.

Not sure if I messed this up or not but I scanned with a smoothness of 2 and fused with a vertex of 2000. I'm hoping you didn't mean 2 for sharpness. I haven't ever really messed with the standard Quality Check .5 and Outlier REmoval of .3%.

I did mean sharpness (as in the alignment/fuse page). I usually scan with the quality check set lower than .5 and outlier at .03% but you have to find what works with your setup.

Exactly whats wrong with these scans? I see a few holes but they look very good. The casting marks are pretty clear and the holes look round.

Best result so far on this particular model. I have created this scan about 3 other times now and each time was having either surface artifacts or alignment issues. So not sure what I did this time other than setting the scan smooth to 2 to make it better. Alignment looks pretty good on this one as well.
