Hi BigBomber,
I would like you to check my 220 mm panel. I'll appreciate.
Is the same panel I used in the second test I posted in our previous discussion. I double checked it and it does not seems so bad in terms of dot precision.
I'm waiting for some "Arca style" stuff in order to made my setup look more professional.
I hope results will improve too. :-)
I've just check yours. it is a good panel. RMS is 0.117 . you must get good result using it
How do you print patterns? using a desktop laser printer?

Great! At a local shop. It's printed directly over the wood panel. They use to print big forex and aluminum panels. Don't know which system they use.

I just got some time to run the calibration routine with the debug console open. I got different results depending on if the "MultipulCameraoptimization" setting was on or not. With the Setting off it was reading my panels as being 90º. With it on it says they are at 89.36º. Not an insignificant difference. I measure them with our CMM and got ~90.007º. I didn't check for flatness, but for 225mm panels I'll take this as good.

Without Optimization I got RMS error value of .2834_

How much is this due to the projector intrinsics?

More later.

Thanks for replay.
Certainly is due to displacement of dots on calib panel.
Your panel is not accurate enough. and variable RMS occur when dots are not at same exact distance from eachother.
projector does not have any effect on RMSError.
Notr 90 deg of panel can be deviated a little, and software can compensate for it.

BTW in you opinion, does the relative size of the dots matter? With in reason of course.

Accurate size is not important, but roundness is very important.

Hi all,
I did a test with the 220 panel I posted above:
I had a strange behaviuor with my camera: it switched to 15 fps. Seems that I have something not ok with USB 3.0.
I made a better calibration before this one: I had RMS 0.11. Panels were more frontal to the camera.

What make you think there is a problem on usb3? Difference between 0.11 and 0.126?
Your panel is not perfect, so some difference is expected regards to how camera see and read your panel.
David/HP is very sensetive to calibration panel.
