Hi
I'm going to grade up my scanner and want to buy two camera to work with HP and also with FlexScan3D.
I wanna to know is the DMK 72BUC02 a suitable camera for my application? does anyone know about format and quality of the camera Images?
Is it a low noise Cam?
Does it yield Important an necessary settings to adjust the cam?
and ....?
The quality of exported image and compatibility of the camera with HP & Flex is the most importance for me.
Also I prefer USB2 cameras, because my PC CPU can not handle high frame rate cameras (also I don't think if any other one can reach out to over 15fps with Diy Scanner due to synchronization limitation).

Also I'm interested to know if any one has any other suggestion for any other Camera models from any other brands.
Is DMK 72BUC02 a good Choise?

Unfortunately that Aptina MT9P031 5MP sensor is literally the nosiest sensor I've ever used, it's low cost for a reason - the data quality is worst than a 1.3mp sensor.
I've had the unfortunate experience of having to use this sensor across many projects dozens of times.. - I know it's low cost but your soul has a cost. I'd rather not eat for a few days, get a modern camera than to have to use this sensor... it's bad, tiny size, rolling shutter, unbelievable noisy, super old (10+ year old design)... the plus... well it's cheap.
Learn from my mistakes, - don't buy this camera...

My Laptop has USB3 Port. but I think Corei7 CPU and 12G of ram is not enough to handle high frame rate.
at this time I scan using two 2Mpixel Camera and I can feel how much load is over on the CPU.

My old i5-2500k does ok with scanning.
If anything it's probably the single usb3.0 controller struggling with a pair of cameras and not the processor.

I have been using the 3.1MP Toupcam UCMOS3100KPA USB2.0 camera for a while. With the declared 11fps, it actually gave out 7-8 (in HP3DScan) ... and it took about 40 seconds. for one scan with the "quality" setting ...

I agree. The i7 (even an older one) should be able to handle 2 USB 3 cameras. My dell laptops is all I use for scanning and it is now nearly 7 years old. I get the full 54 frames from both IS 174 cameras with it.Alonso wrote: ↑03 Feb 2021, 11:32My old i5-2500k does ok with scanning.
