I'm Coming Back
Hi to all Friends.
I'm an old friend of David & Hp scanner. I like and prefer my new nickname "Bigbomber".
Here is some of my last scans. I have lots of things new to improve scans and alignment them. be patient...

Re: I'm Coming Back
and a larg part: it is a castted part
Max Diameter of this part is about ~560mm.
160mm Calibration Board. HP V5, 12mm lens. modified Logitech Cams. NEC Projector.
all of my scans are a little noisy due to high gain value of cameras (my projector is not so bright, so I push cameras), but i'm satisfied.
accuracy is very good. 0.2mm on 400mm in most of my scans (this part is caste iron, so I can not measure accuracy correctly).
Also I should mention than my 160mm calib panel is made by myself. it is not accurate enough but I can get good result by it.

Nice scan bigbomber
How did you do to merge both sizes of the last object. How did you setup looks like? Did you use any markers (sphere)?
Thanks!

Re: I'm Coming Back
For Merging both sides (better to say alignment of both sides) I use some simple extra objects to help to rotate the objects.
about markers: yes you can see those circles on my objects. they are simple 0.5mm thick paper. If your setup has good accuracy, those circles are enough to align textureless surfaces (they are instead of spheres). but your setup most be accurately calibrated and you must not experience any deformation on scans.

Re: I'm Coming Back
bigbomber, do you use Markers for scanning? as I know David doesn't support for markers.
Re: I'm Coming Back
yes. but software can't recognize them. actually they helps on fine registration.Stive_Rad0 wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 22:30bigbomber, do you use Markers for scanning? as I know David doesn't support for markers.
