Headlight

Post by martan »

Collegue needed help with a headlight conversion. KTM i think. The clear glass with reflector behind
was not easy to scan with spray only. In pure desperation I taped it :-)

Spray didn't stick to the glass? This is an application where I may have tried Plastidip. Just on the glass.

Looks like KTM :)

The spray was not thick enough and the contrast just disappeared. Plastidip would have been perfect here.
To little time for it unfortunately. Thought about putting a black rag in it to cover the reflector. Did not try it though.

I wonder if ordinary gouache paints could handle this?
P.S. I remember that, in early childhood, their teachers painted windows in the kindergarten for the New Year ..

The other option is white liquid shoe polish. The kind that comes in the bottle with the sponge applicator top. It can be removed with ISO alcohol.

Yes. Just make sure it doesn't have any solvents that the plastic headlight lens might not like.

Thanks!

The rest of the lamp project: The fairing. It is orange and I didn't spray it.

Quick and dirty. Aligned absolutely perfect. Filling holes gave this funny effect
