Did you spray the head with anything so that the depth of the intake ports and water ports show up?
I was once told to use white - chalk spray

Is that similar to the developer for NDT with "red fluid"?
HP 3D Scan, Optoma ML750, 2x IS DMK 23UX236 with Computar 12mm, HP calibration panel, DIY Rotary tables.
