Dude, I just found this thing on the App Store called Kratos Hero Creator. You scan your face with an iPhone and in like 5 minutes you’ve got a MetaHuman-ready model. Clean topology, no extra cleanup needed.
Only downside is the price… around $35 per model. Makes sense if you’re doing scans regularly for clients, but if you’re just using it once in a while it might feel expensive. Still, the quality is seriously impressive.
Has anyone here tried this before?

Yeah, I’ve tried it a bit. The scans are surprisingly solid — like you said, the topology is clean and pretty much ready to drop into Unreal or any MetaHuman workflow without much fiddling. The facial details come through really well, and the whole process is way faster than the old photogrammetry + retopology grind.
The price is definitely the only downside if you’re just doing a one-off, but for anyone doing multiple character scans it could actually save a ton of time. The workflow is super smooth too — you just scan, export, and import. No messy cleanup, no guessing about edge loops, which is normally the killer step.
One thing to note: lighting matters a bit for the scan, and you’ll want a neutral background for the best result. Other than that, it’s pretty impressive for a mobile solution.
